Oh, what a Soirée it was, on Sunday, June 2, in celebration of the 19-year “jumelage” between Mercer Island and Thonon les Bains!

Caruccio’s provided French wines and a delicious menu:
Smoked Salmon Tartine
Fromage and Charcuterie
Tartiflette with potatoes, bacon, and robluchon
Grilled Flat Iron Steak with champignons and pistou
Prawns with courgette and mint buerre blanc
Grilled Spring Vegetables
Salade verte
Beautiful desserts – mixed fruit galettes – were provided by Convivial Cafe of Mercer Island.
Attendees enjoyed guitar music and a video of the first half of student exchange trip to Thonon in April.

Lucky raffle winners went home with a beautiful French picnic baskets with all the fixings,
a basket of wines from the local winery Convergence Zone, and a selection of specialty teas, coffees and other goodies from the French bakery, “La Fête,” soon to open on Mercer Island.
